B.C.’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) sets out rules for how organizations can collect, use and disclose personal information. This Privacy Policy has been developed in compliance with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act. Homeopathy Circle is committed to being accountable for how personal information is safeguarded and for the principles outlined in this policy.
Homeopathy Circle will only collect and use personal information that is necessary to fulfill the purpose of finding a homeopathic remedy. Homeopathy Circle does not disclose personal information except for the identified purposes unless we have received consent from the individual. Homeopathy Circle will only collect, use or disclose information in accordance with PIPA.

Patient’s Confidentiality
Patients will only be asked to provide information that is relevant to support consultations and prescriptions.
Your personal information is used to analyse the conditions and symptoms to prescribe homeopathic remedies.
You authorize discussion of your case notes with other professional homeopaths should assistance in selection of remedy and/or analysis of symptoms be required. In doing so, your right to privacy will be protected by changing or withholding your name and all other identifying information.
You have rights regarding your personal data, including knowing what information I have on record about you.
Any information communicated by a patient including case history, case file, and any written case notes shall be held as confidential, except as follows:
- In response to a valid court order.
- In an emergency or other dangerous situation, where in the professional opinion of the homeopath and based on legal advice pertaining to the provincial jurisdiction, the information may assist in prevention of possible injury to the patient or to another person, such as if there is reasonable suspicion of child or elder abuse or that that the patient presents danger to him or herself or to others.
All patient physical files, notes and forms, shall be kept in a locked filing cabinet. Furthermore, all electronic files shall be fully password-protected with an encrypted security key.
Your information is stored securely for as long as you continue to receive consultations. This includes use of strong passwords for information held within the computer and back-up systems. None of your personal information is stored on cloud services.
Since patients frequently return for additional consultations after an absence, your information will be securely stored for sixteen years following your last visit. In the case of minors, case notes are held until they reach age 35. At that time, your file will be securely deleted, and all digital data will be wiped securely from the computer system.
Personal information transmitted through email are stored under Google’s advanced security program with additional login-specific security key. Sensitive email information is deleted permanently from the Gmail server and a copy of the digital email is securely stored on the computer.
